NEW: Low Heat Shock Miniature Thermopile Sensor

Heimann Sensor introduces a new generation of single element thermopile sensors with optimized thermal heat shock behavior. The new HMS P-Series allows fast and accurate measurements even under rapidly changing ambient temperatures or so-called heat shock situations.

Heat shock situations typically occur when the sensor is quickly moved from one ambient temperature to another as it is the case with in-ear thermometers. Once the thermometer is inserted into the ear opening, the sensor temperature is exposed to a different temperature. As thermopiles compare incoming radiation (temperature) with a reference temperature (sensor), a quickly changing sensor temperature will result in inaccurate readouts until the sensor reference temperature is stable again.

Our new HMS P-Series possesses an improved thermal heat shock behavior thanks to its design. A higher thermal mass of the sensor housing combined with materials of high thermal conductivity and a filter integration make up the success factors.

The heat shock response is improved by factor 5 compared to a standard TO-package which is shown in the following graph. This allows accurate readings within 0.2 seconds after a heat shock occurred, whereas a standard sensor needs 1 to 2 seconds until its readout is accurate again. This presents a huge improvement for in-ear thermometer devices regarding speed and comfort of in-ear temperature measurements.

Heimann Sensor's infrared array HTPA32x32d in Parkside Thermal imaging camera now available at LIDL
By Christin de Witt September 30, 2024
Our Heimann Sensor team is pleased to share a great success story: One of our innovative sensors has been included into a new thermal imaging camera that is now available at LIDL throughout Germany and internationally. In this way, this kind of product has become affordable to the masses. After a couple days, the cameras were already sold out in the supermarkets. Nevertheless, the camera is still available on the LIDL online shop at https://www.lidl.de/p/parkside-4-v-waermebildkamera-pwbka-4-a1-1024-messpunkte/p100377390 . The heart of this camera is the Heimann Sensor HTPA32x32d array sensor, which enables spatially resolved temperature measurements for professional use as well as everyday use. For example, it is possible to detect heat loss in buildings or to analyze electrical systems. This success is a further proof of the high quality and competitiveness of Heimann Sensor products.

Like the year before, again this year some of our colleagues and even their offspring attended the 5km run in Dresden in June. Some came as fans and the eight you can see on the picture crossed the finish line together. Congratulations! It's a wonderful team event and we're already looking forward to next year's repetition.
Heimann Sensor at the trade fair Sensor+Test 2024
By Christin de Witt June 14, 2024
The Sensor+Test 2024 fair was once again a meeting place for the European sensor community. We had many interesting discussions with suppliers and old and potentially new customers, particpated in a lot of meetings - all in a short time and in one place. Thanks to a wonderful team from Heimann Sensor (from left to right: Dr. Wilhelm Leneke, Mischa Schulze, Dr. Jörg Schieferdecker, Dr. Victor Bechthold, Dr. Marion Simon, Michael Schnorr, Christoph Kohlmann, Alexander Rehmer, guest) our participation at the Sensor+Test 2024 was a success.

Heimann Sensor offers non-contact sensors for temperature measurements of tires of racing cars
By Christin de Witt March 15, 2024
Heimann Sensor's non-contact sensors for remote temperature measurements are used for the monitoring of tires of racing motorcycles and racing cars. We thank our customer and partner Nigtecnologias, located in Argentina, for this great cooperation. ( https://www.instagram.com/nigtecnologiasoficial/ ) The information about the actual temperature is important to control grip and degradation of the race tires. Our integrated sensor features a fast response with high accuracy. If you are interested in further information, have a look at our Thermopile Modules (HIM Series) .
